Code Like a Girl

Scottish born software engineer Amy Watson, started Code Like a Girl in 2016 while studying Computer Science at the Glasgow University The company was set up with a mission to attract more women into the industry still dominated by men and closing a pay gap within tech industry.

In January this year she has been honoured with an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in recognition of her contribution and dedication to educating girls and women in tech.
Since the company creation, Code like a girl helped thousands of girls and women and other gender minorities to learn coding and develop essential digital skills. The company main purpose is to enable women and girls to enter into a male dominated industry. Code like a girl run networking events connecting women in tech with like minded individuals and people wanting to re-train or get back into work.
