Brit Clayton

Senior Diversity & Inclusion Consultant and Trainer

Qualifications: BSc (Hons) – Social Policy, Level 5 Diploma – Investigating
and Level 3 Diploma – Social Work

Experience: Brit is passionate about Diversity and Inclusion and has a particular focus on Disability and the LGBT+ community. Brit has experience as an Equalities officer and as Chair of an LGBT+ Staff network within the public sector. Brit has designed and delivered general and industry specific training, written organisational policies and been responsible for stakeholder engagement within diverse community groups. Brit provided her expertise and advice to Pride In London as a member of the Community Advisory Board. As a person with Dyslexia and ADHD, Brit knows first-hand about the challenges that neuro-diverse people can face in the workplace and has helped drive through change in making the workplace more accessible, through both training and workplace policies.

Brit is an experienced and accredited Investigator and has extensive experience working on high profile criminal and misconduct investigations in the public sector. As an investigator Brit has acquired extensive safeguarding and risk assessment knowledge and experience. A trained Family Liaison Manager, she has assisted families through the bereavement process following the sudden death of a loved one and provided support through the subsequent investigation. Brit is a skilled communicator who is able to adapt her communication style to suit any audience. Brit has developed learning recommendations for national and local public sector organisations as a result of a high-profile Investigations. In particular, investigations relating to learning disabilities, mental health and the LGBT+ community.
