Qualifications: MSc HRM and Business Administration and BSc Psychology
Experience: Sheila has over 20 years’ experience in HR and part of this role has involved promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. As the youngest of a family of 4 with her mother becoming widowed when she was only 7, she has developed strong resilience and determination to be an independent and strong female role model to others in the same way as her mother was an educationalist and coped through much adversity.
She has a real passion and enthusiasm for learning and enabling people to perform at their best. She has undertaken a diverse range of assignments and projects from Equality and Diversity Workshops with the Northern Lighthouse Board to a serious HR external investigation consultant for a Council Department. She has also been running unconscious bias and disability inclusive management programmes for the Civil Service.
She introduced equality measures into a private port group as well as the implemented a competency-based Recruitment and Performance Management system for a third sector charity organisation.
As a coach, mentor, trainer, facilitator, tutor, and assessor, she is committed to the development of others and helping people as individuals perform at their best. She loves to design and deliver training programmes especially when tailored to the Company’s needs. She has recently been rolling out mental health awareness and strengthening your resilience courses with the Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service and Fife Council and is a committed wellbeing practitioner. She has also been delivering virtual workshops on understanding complex needs and handling challenge.
