Understanding different ways of thinking at work.

Neurodiversity Awareness for Employees is a practical, accessible training programme designed to build understanding and awareness of neurodiversity in everyday working life.

The course supports employees to recognise different thinking styles, understand common challenges, and interact more inclusively with colleagues — without placing responsibility beyond their role. It focuses on awareness, empathy, and knowing when and how to seek support.

Recommended course length: Half Day – (Also available as an online session, depending on organisational needs.)

Overview

Neurodiversity is a natural variation in how people think, learn, and process information. Many workplaces, however, are designed around a narrow range of working styles.

This course supports employees to develop greater awareness of neurodiversity and inclusion, helping them reflect on their own preferences, reduce assumptions, and work more effectively with colleagues. The focus is on everyday interaction, communication, and inclusion; not diagnosis or intervention.

Topics Covered

  • What neurodiversity means and why it matters
  • Different thinking and working styles
  • Common workplace challenges and barriers
  • Inclusion, empathy, and reducing assumptions
  • Communication and collaboration
  • Boundaries, support routes, and signposting

Course Outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Build awareness of neurodiversity and inclusion
  • Increase confidence working with different thinking styles
  • Reduce misunderstandings and assumptions
  • Communicate and collaborate more effectively
  • Understand appropriate boundaries and support routes
